StatSocial, Ten Years Later

Ten years ago this month, we officially launched StatSocial.

The company’s roots go back further, to PeekYou and then PeekAnalytics, which we soft-launched in 2012. The original idea was fairly simple: brands knew how many Twitter followers they had, but very little about who those people actually were. We thought we could do something about that.

A decade later, StatSocial has evolved considerably. We’ve built an enormous database of people and their interests, launched our audience platform, and expanded well beyond Twitter into audience research, influencer marketing, advertising and measurement across multiple social networks. And with the dawn of accessible AI, I can’t wait to see what’s next.

The public web has changed quite a bit in those ten years. Social platforms have come and gone, consumer behavior has shifted, and the technology behind our products has become substantially more sophisticated. But the basic premise remains the same: indexing the web around people, understanding what they really care about, and bringing that insight to the world’s greatest brands and agencies.

Building a company for ten years is no small accomplishment. I’m enormously proud of the team we’ve assembled, the technology we’ve built, and the business we’ve created together.

Here’s to the next ten years.
